Coronation Street

Coronation Street also known by it's nickname Corrie is a British soap opera created by Tony Warren that has been running since 9th December 1960, the show airs on ITV and is a direct rival of EastEnders' often competing with them for ratings and viewers. Coronation Street is considered part of the current "big four soaps", along with Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and EastEnders themselves. Originally Coronation Street existed as a fictional show in the world of EastEnders, as Dot Branning mentioned in 2010 she was a fan of the show and never missed it. June Brown herself appeared on Coronation Street in a recurring role from 1970 to 1971, around fifteen years prior to EastEnders airing.

Coronation Street exist in the EastEnders universe and was referenced on 2 November 2021 when Tiffany Butcher-Baker showed Whitney Dean a video of Weatherfield resident Maria Connor campaigning to stop global warming. This scene was filmed due to all the soaps agreeing to come together to do scenes for each other to raise awareness for global warming. EastEnders and Coronation Street have also came together for the 2010 Children in need.

A non-canonical tie between Coronation Street and EastEnders was first made back in 1995 when the other big soaps congratulated EastEnders on their tenth anniversary. The cast and crew of Coronation Street shot a sequence for the celebration by having the pub regulars wishing EastEnders a happy anniversary, with London born character Mike Baldwin (played by Johnny Briggs) mentioning that he once drank in The Queen Victoria.
