Kate Harwood was executive producer of EastEnders from February 2005 to October 2006, with her last episode airing on 4 January 2007. She quit EastEnders and was succeeded by Diederick Santer. During her tenure, she had some quite successful storylines. She was responsible for Dennis Rickman's murder, Sharon Rickman's departure, the Get Johnny Week scenario that culminated with the death of Danny Moon, in the end, Billy and Honey Mitchell's wedding, which lead to a storyline with their baby Janet, being diagnosed with Down's Syndrome, Sean Slater's introduction, Johnny Allen's death, Ruby Allen's exit, and the demise of Pauline Fowler.
She also introduced Bradley, Max, Tanya, Lauren and Abi Branning, as well as Kevin, Dean and Carly Wicks and the original members of the Fox family Denise, Chelsea and Libby Fox, with Owen Turner. She also introduced Phil Mitchell’s Long-standing lawyer, Ritchie Scott
